On October 20, 2016, Art This Week filmed Perspectives: Glenn O’Brien at the Blanton Museum of Art. In this talk, O’Brien speaks about his time working with and working for Andy Warhol. He served as editor-in-chief of Warhol’s Interview Magazine three different times. The talk was moderated by The Blanton’s Manager of Public Programs, Adam Bennett. The talk coincided with the exhibition, Warhol by the Book on view at the museum from October 16, 2016 – January 29, 2017. In Part 1, O’Brien discusses what it was like to edit for Interview Magazine, what it was like to work for Andy Warhol, what it was like to be at the Factory, and what it was like to be in New York during the 70s and 80s.
